In January, Eddy House moved into our new 15,000+ square foot facility to embark on 24-hour services unlike any regarding youth homelessness in Northern Nevada. This new project has enabled us to get young people off the streets, giving them an opportunity to get on their feet and thrive. Many of the young people come to us due to aging out of foster care, some have had tragic incidents, and then there are those that have been lost on their own for years. Eddy House has been able to add counseling, workforce development and a wide array of support services unseen in its young history. Yet, our work is not done; there are over 1,800 youth homeless in our community, not including the 3,000+ homeless kids in our school system.
