Clients Alex and Britney are our first clients to officially graduate our Community Living Program at Eddy House. Alex has been working full time at one of our local construction partnerships and has studied and received his OSHA 10. During his time at Eddy House Alex was able to find stability and set goals for himself, though he certainly faced challenges along the way. Now Alex continues to work at the construction company and lives in his own apartment. During her time with Eddy House, Britney has been focused on school. Although she is also working a part time job, Britney has utilized our partner agency JOIN to start classes and become a CNA. This is the first step to accomplish her goal of becoming a nurse. Britney is currently living in her apartment with a roommate and will begin her classes in May as she works and saves her money. We have a 24-year-old male client who when came into Eddy House he was sleeping on the streets and suffered from social anxiety. During his visits to our drop- in center we were able to get him signed up with Medicaid and through Medicaid, for him a bed in WellCare where he could receive services for his mental health and get off the streets. Last week we were able to provide him with non- slip shoes, black pants and shirts for him to start a job at a local restaurant in town.
