Eddy House Recognizes National Homeless Youth Awareness Month
Since 2007, November has been a time to acknowledge youth experiencing homelessness in our country. Youth represent nearly 1 in 10 homeless in our community and Eddy House has already served over 360 individuals this year. We are Northern Nevada’s only homeless shelter dedicated to serving any transitional aged youth. Our mission is to help young people develop the life and job skills necessary for sustainable independence, but this is a community effort.
In November, over 50 businesses throughout Northern Nevada are coming together to bring awareness to youth homelessness and raise needed support for them too. The best part is, you can get involved as well.

4 Ways You Can Help
1. Attend
Nov 1: Kickoff Party
Head to Lead Dog Brewing on 4th St. at 6 pm for our November Kickoff! Enjoy beer, live music, and more. Proceeds from the sale of Lead Dog’s Huesos de Perro beer throughout November will be donated to Eddy House.
Nov 19: An Evening with Lynette
Join us for a three-course dinner and wine pairing with our founder Lynette Eddy at Grafted Whiskey and Wine. Learn more and purchase tickets here.
2. Participate
Picking up dinner for your family? Happy hour after work? Meeting someone for coffee? Looking for sweet gifts? Your purchases throughout November can support Eddy House!
One-Day Promotions
- Nov 1: Dutch Bros $1 for every drink
- Nov 2: Raising Cane’s Go to any Raising Cane’s between 4 pm and 10 pm and mention Eddy House to have a portion donated!
- Nov 9: Yogurt Beach Go to any Yogurt Beach in Reno/Sparks- be sure to mention Eddy House!
- Nov 10: Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Go to Dickey’s on Plumb Ln and let them know you’re supporting Eddy House.

4. Celebrate
Eddy House celebrates our Birthday in November and you can participate in the Eddy House Birthday Challenge! When you make a one-time donation of $130, donate $13 a month, or get 13 friends to donate $13 each through your own Facebook or Instagram fundraiser, you help us towards our goal of raising $13,000 to provide 1,000 meals to clients. Plus, you’ll be entered to win prizes!
To create a Facebook fundraiser, go to facebook.com/fund/eddyhousereno, fill out details, and click “create!” On Instagram, make a post, click add fundraiser, search and select Eddy House, and set your goal.
