Eddy House is Northern Nevada’s central access point for homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth. We provide a full continuum of care, including support for basic needs, shelter, residential housing, life skills development, therapy, and employment assistance. Our trauma-informed, youth-centered approach empowers young people to build safe and independent futures.
Who We Serve:
Transitional-aged youth (18–24 years old).
Youth experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
Youth who are couch surfing, leaving foster care, aging out of juvenile justice, or in crisis.
Open daily for meals, showers, hygiene, laundry, clothing, and case management.
Entry point for youth accessing services for the first time.
Clients are not required to be actively experiencing homelessness in order to access these resources.
Emergency Shelter
Safe overnight housing for up to 50 youth nightly
Low-barrier access; no sobriety or ID requirements. However, clients are expected to be able to move around safely.
Regarding Substance Use: We understand that substance use is a reality for many of our clients. While being under the influence will not automatically prevent someone from accessing our shelter, for the safety and well-being of all guests and staff, individuals who are severely intoxicated (e.g., unable to walk, communicate clearly, or behave safely) may be asked to wait before entering or may be referred to alternative services including emergency medical services.
Community Living Program
Residential program for youth working toward education or employment.
Includes case management, life skills, and goal-setting.
Requires sobriety and commitment to personal growth.
Transitional Living Community
Up to two years of supportive housing in private studio apartments.
For youth employed or in school full-time.
Includes rent assistance, life skills training, and aftercare planning.
Day Programming
Life skills groups in 5 key areas: Career & Finance, Housing & Transportation, Self-Care, Community, and Essential Documents.
On-site therapy and workforce development available daily.
Aftercare
Ongoing support for youth moving into their own housing.
Includes rental and deposit assistance, move-in supplies, and case management.
Diversion
Early intervention to help youth avoid entering the shelter system.
Creative housing solutions through short-term planning, family reunification, or shared housing options.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can youth self-refer?
Yes! Youth can walk into the Drop-In Center without an appointment. We also accept referrals from providers.
Do youth need ID or proof of homelessness?
No documentation is required to access basic services or emergency shelter.
Can youth stay if they are using substances?
The Drop-In Center and Emergency Shelter are low-barrier, meaning sobriety is not required to access services. Our Community Living and TLC programs do require sobriety.
What if my client is undocumented or LGBTQ+?
Eddy House serves all youth regardless of immigration status, gender identity, or sexual orientation. We are a safe and inclusive space.
What if my client is pregnant or parenting?
Due to facility restraints we are unable to provide shelter for children at Eddy House. We will work with pregnant youth on a fast track to get them housed as quickly as possible, and provide support to parenting youth through diversion and aftercare. You can find more information here.
Will I be informed if my client connects with services?
With client consent, we are happy to coordinate care and keep you informed of progress or concerns.

We welcome referrals from community partners. Here’s how you can connect a youth in the community to Eddy House services:
Walk-Ins Welcome: Youth can visit our Drop-In Center anytime during open hours
Youth Eligibility
Between the ages of 18–24
Experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk
Able to successfully complete activities of daily living
Youth can self-refer or be referred by a provider.
Referrals are accepted for all programs. Once received, our Intake or Case Management team will follow up with you or the youth directly.
Working Together
Eddy House welcomes collaboration with case managers, probation officers, housing programs, healthcare providers, schools, and other community partners. Our goal is to ensure that no young person in Northern Nevada faces homelessness alone.
